Bulk Packing – Bulk Shipments

Bulk shipments refer to the transportation of large quantities of bitumen without individual packaging, directly loaded onto specially designed bitumen carriers. These vessels are engineered to handle the high viscosity and thermal requirements of bitumen, ensuring safe and efficient transport over long distances.

To facilitate loading and unloading at both the port of origin and destination, specialized infrastructure such as storage tanks, pipelines, and pumping stations is employed. These facilities are carefully designed to maintain product quality and operational safety throughout the transfer process.

The minimum capacity of a bulk bitumen vessel typically starts at 1,000 metric tons, while larger vessels can carry up to 50,000 metric tons. Due to operational and economic constraints, smaller vessels are generally not practical for long-distance shipments.
